My take on the book
This is my first book by Shari Lapena. I have heard a lot about her books. Now without questions, I have become a fan of her writing. Remarkable concept and impeccable execution from start to the end. Every single page gives a full-throttle effect. The story moved marvellously. I finished the book overnight. The book supercharged me. That says something. For one, I am motivated enough to read her other books. The entire read had a heart-pounding impact on me.
Very well-drawn characters. Their emotions, their restlessness was all playing in front of me. Everything was flawless about the book, including the title.
The book has the underlying theme of teenage issues, infidelity, and secrets between family members. The plot has a couple of subplots and they are strongly connected with the main plot.
The ending comes as a complete surprise. You will think you have figured only to realise you were wrong.
Thank you Shari Lapena for giving us such a wonderful read.
A must-have for the mystery fans.
My rating is 4.5 stars.
